Facilities and Property Management
The Facilities and Property Management Department is responsible for managing and maintaining all county-owned buildings and real property. We are a service-oriented department dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment to comply with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements and/or mandates.
Services
Responsible for general maintenance and repair of all buildings and associated systems, as well as, for providing other services such as locksmithing. A computerized maintenance management system and a building automation system are utilized to increase efficiency while providing these services.
Manages all building renovation and new construction projects of all sizes, including multi-million-dollar capital projects. Staff works with designers, clients, and contractors on projects ensuring county buildings are in good condition, updating spaces, installing new technology, and constructing new buildings to accommodate the changing needs of the county. The division is also responsible for providing information for capital investment planning purposes.
Coordinates all real estate transactions for county property, including property purchases and sales, easements, and lease management. Staff also monitors space utilization and oversees various professional services relating to real property. Additionally, the division manages contracted services such as janitorial, waste management, pest control, and contracted grounds maintenance for county buildings.
Responsible for delivering interoffice mail, sorting incoming U.S. Postal Service mail, and metering all outgoing U.S. Postal Service mail.
Allocates and assigns parking spaces in county parking lots and decks. Additionally, staff is responsible for managing revenue generated from select county parking decks.
Creates and installs county road signs for new development approved by the Planning Department. Also, staff replaces road signs on county roads in unincorporated areas and in the towns of Pleasant Garden, Stokesdale, Sedalia, and Whitsett.
Coordinates review and approval of Facilities Use Requests received by the general public. Requests are reviewed, approved, and governed by the Guilford County Facilities Use Guidelines.

Before visiting a Guilford County facility, make sure you know if parking is available onsite and/or where the closest parking is available. All High Point facilities have visitor parking available onsite, however, parking is not free at all locations, including the High Point Courthouse. County facilities in the downtown Greensboro area also do not offer free parking. These buildings include the Old County Courthouse, County Courthouse, Katie S. Cashion Center, and the Law Enforcement building.
