The N.C. Department of Public Safety (NCDPS) Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (DJJDP) partners with Guilford County's Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) to work with community leaders and residents to reduce and prevent juvenile crime, and to ensure youth in our communities are well educated, healthy, law abiding, contributing members of society who respect the rights of others and themselves. The DJJDP allocates approximately $28 million to these councils annually throughout the state. Funding is used to subsidize local programs and services.
Council responsibilities are governed by N.C.G. S. 143B-845-853. More information is available online from the N.C. General Assembly.
