Addressing

Guilford County's GIS team is in charge of assigning and modifying street addresses within unincorporated Guilford County, and the Towns of Stokesdale, Pleasant Garden, Sedalia and Whitsett. The GIS team also manages of the Master Road Name database for all of Guilford County through coordination with Guilford County municipalities, Emergency Services, Guilford Metro  9-1-1, and developers for standardized road naming.

For road signs in new subdivision developments, the Planner involved in the project will coordinate with developers and the county to install new signs.

For road signs in new subdivision developments, the Town Planner involved in the project will coordinate with developers and with Guilford County GIS-Address Admin to install new signs.

Municipalities including the Town of Jamestown, City of Greensboro, City of High Point handle their own road signs.

Petitions for street name changes shall be submitted in writing for consideration by the Guilford County Planning Board, and upon appeal, by the Board of County Commissioners.
