Fraud, Waste, and Ethics
We encourage you to report meaningful concerns about:
- Theft of government property – money, materials, time
- Waste or abuse of government property
- Inappropriate or unethical behavior by a governmental employee
If you choose to report a concern, please be as specific as possible about:
- The name of the person(s) involved
- The nature of the fraud, waste, or ethical concern
- Date, place, and time of the incident
- Others with knowledge of the incident
- Any other pertinent information
How to Report Your Concerns
Call 911 or report a crime to Sheriff's Office's non-emergency line at 336-373-2222.
To report suspected abuse or neglect of a child, call 336-641-3795 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 800-378-5315 after hours. To report the suspected abuse or neglect of an at-risk older adult, call 336-641-3000.
To report suspected Medicaid or food assistance fraud, call 336-641-4741.

Report concerns about state or federal programs, services, or employees to the North Carolina State Auditor's Office.
