Plans should be submitted thirty (30) days prior to the commencement of the land disturbing activity. Plans are reviewed in the order that they are received and plans can be approved, punch-listed, or denied for various reasons. A punch-listed plan may be corrected and resubmitted. Denial of a plan entitles the applicant to request a public hearing within fifteen (15) days after receipt of written notice of disapproval. The Guilford County Planning Board hears appeals within thirty (30) days of the appeal request and makes a recommendation to the Guilford County Board of Commissioners. The Commissioners will render a final decision within (30) days of receipt of the recommendations from the Planning Board. If the appeal is denied, the applicant may further appeal to the North Carolina Sedimentation Control Commission.
These are the items required on the submitted erosion control plans:
- Submitted plans must include all items on the erosion and sedimentation plan review checklist.
- The Guilford County general plan notes must be included, in the submitted plans. In accordance, with self-inspection rules outlined in NCGS 113A-54.1, the self-inspection guidelines will also, need to be stated, in the submitted plans.
- Ground stabilization and materials handling practices for compliance with the NCG01 Construction General Permit.
- Also, submitted plans should include temporary and permanent seeding specifications.
