About the Project

The Law Enforcement Administration Building Construction Project includes the demolition of the old jail building, the construction of a new Guilford County Sheriff's Office headquarters, and the removal of the current Otto Zenke structure for parking.

In February 2024, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners approved a $26.67 million contract with Blum-WC, a joint venture between Winston-Salem-based Blum Construction and Winston-Salem-based WC Construction, to complete construction of a new law enforcement administration building. Blum-WC is serving as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the project.

Anticipated Project Timeline

Demolition of the old jail is complete and construction is underway on the new facility. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Demolition of the Otto Zenke structure and parking lot will follow the completion of the new building and is expected to take about five (5) months. The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-2026.
