Vineyards

The vineyards are a proud feature of the County Farm, grown specifically to give back to the community. The 3-acre Vineyard is primarily Red Muscadine, with a small growth of golden Triumph Muscadine and Red Mars Vines.

The annual harvest of thousands of pounds of fresh produce is called “The Big Pick” and is held each year on the last weekend in September and the first weekend in October (weather permitting). Volunteers gather to help pick as many grapes as they can to do their part in supporting those in their community who are need of a little assistance and some healthy, fresh produce. The grapes are then sorted and distributed throughout the community to local food banks, shelters, and other organizations feeding those in need.
