Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before closing to allow for time to unload materials.
White goods are common household appliances, named as a result of the all-white enamel finishes common to the original models. In North Carolina, white goods are no longer permitted to be disposed of in landfills, so the County has established a facility where these articles may be disposed of at no charge. Items accepted for free disposal are:
- Stoves, Stovetops, Ovens
- Washers
- Dryers
- Refrigerators
- Water Heaters
- Water Coolers
- Freezers
- Air Conditioners
- Furnaces
- Dishwashers
- Microwaves
- Range Hoods
- Lawn Mowers (with all fluids removed)
- Charcoal Grills and Gas Grills (no fuel canisters)
- Treadmills
Disposal Procedures
Simply bring your white goods to the County facility, located at 2138 Bishop Road, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. County staff will be available to help you unload your materials. No appointment is necessary, and there is no charge for this recycling service.
