Applying for WIC
To participate in WIC, you must be income eligible and have a qualifying medical or nutritional need. To be eligible, you must:
- Live in North Carolina
- Be a pregnant woman; a woman who has been pregnant in the last six (6) months; a breastfeeding woman who has had a baby in the last 12 months; an infant or child up to age five (5)
- Be income eligible. Income is based on the size of the family unit and the total household income. Persons participating in Medicaid, Food Stamps, or Work First are already income eligible. See the Income Eligibility Chart for specific Qualifying Income Guidelines.
- Have a qualifying medical or nutritional need as determined by a WIC Nutritionist
To apply for WIC, you may visit or call the WIC office or fill out the referral form online. The WIC Program has a site located in both the Greensboro and High Point Health clinics. Both sites are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You will be given an appointment to begin the process of receiving services.
