MAPC Event - Southside Recreation Center

𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱! 
Our first MPAC event will be this coming Friday June, 3rd from 10am to 3pm at Southside Recreation Center located at 401 Taylor Ave, High Point, NC 27260.
With its ever-expanding services to help Guilford County pet owners keep and care for their pets, Guilford County Animal Services has created the Mobile Pet Assistance Center – or “MPAC.”
A team of staff and volunteers will travel the county every week, setting up tents and tables, where they will offer free pet microchips vouchers, free rabies vaccinations, assistance with free pet food, and free pet supplies: leashes, collars, beds, blankets, bowls, etc.
Many of these programs have operated out of the Links building, at 710 Huffine Mill Road, with residents driving to the Greensboro location for services. As word of these programs spread, phone calls to GCAS exploded. People from all over the county needed help, and a long trip to the Links building wasn’t feasible.
The MPAC team will visit every corner of the county from this week through the month of October, placing their pop-up events at community recreation/resource centers, fire stations, county and city parks, and shopping centers. Locations will be announced in advance on GCAS’s social media.
“MPAC allows us to reach and help more and more people, building awareness for GCAS programs and sharing our mission to serve people, pets and the community,” said Lisa Lee, assistant director. “It also helps us share the abundance of donated products we receive from businesses like Chewy and from the public."
