Our nation’s Veterans service in our military and sacrifice for the common good represents the highest of American ideals. We are proud to partner with local merchants in Guilford County to celebrate and honor their service. We have approximately 40,000 Veterans in our area.
The Guilford County Register of Deeds is providing Veterans with photo ID cards that can be used for discounts at participating businesses in Guilford County. Our Discount Program has two primary goals:
1) Encourage veterans to register their original DD Form 214
2) Obtain benefits for veterans through local businesses. The Veteran Discount Program is free to Veterans and to our businesses partners.
Current List of Participating County Merchants
Our hours for issuing the cards are 8:00am – 12:00pm and 2:00pm – 4:00pm. We are issuing at both the Greensboro Office and our High Point Office.
Greensboro: Vitals Department, 201 W. Market Street, on the 1st floor of the building
High Point: 325 E Russell Avenue, Room 155
To be issued an ID card, a Veteran will need to bring the following:
A valid state-issued driver’s license or identification card; military ID card, etc. (it must have the Veteran’s picture);
- Veteran’s original DD Form 214. Note: If you have previously recorded your DD Form 214 here at our office, then we will verify we have it in our records before issuing your ID Card.
We are asking Businesses to Join the Effort!
The Register of Deeds encourages all Guilford County businesses to participate. Please Complete Merchant Form as soon as possible.
A listing of the participating businesses will be on the Guilford County Register of Deeds website. Discounts may be a percentage of the sale or a specific dollar amount (both can be with restrictions), if applicable or you may want to offer an incentive (gift or gift card) to the Veteran. We are appreciative of any level of participation possible.
We will send each business a sign to display showing our Veterans and your customers that you participate in our program that supports Veterans.
