Greetings, 

We are incredibly grateful for the Guilford County community. Our Spay and Neuter Voucher Program exceeded our wildest expectations. 

This county program is unprecedented in its scope and range, which is thanks to all of you who have participated. We are also beyond grateful for our service providers, and their willingness to take part in this program which has made it the success that it has become. 

Due to the huge success of the voucher program, we ask for your patience as we process vouchers in the order they were received as funding and partnership space allows. The voucher system process can take up to several months to process.  You will receive a second email when your voucher is approved and ready to be picked up at Guilford County Animal Services. Please do not schedule an appointment until your receive your approval as we cannot guarantee an approval by a set date.

As always, we are here to answer any questions and to support the community. We do not have an exact time frame for voucher issuance, so we ask for your patience in between your application email, and your voucher acceptance email. Guilford County Animal Services offers a spay/neuter voucher program for Guilford County Residents. Residents can apply for ONE voucher per household per county fiscal year from July 1st to June 30th for their cats or dogs. Once submitted and approved, the resident will receive an email with further instructions on how to obtain and use their voucher.

1. I understand that I must present my voucher and a valid ID or proof of Guilford County Residency at the time of voucher redemption. This voucher can only be issued to and used by pet owners that are residents of Guilford County. The application must list their Guilford County Address. A photo ID with proof of address is required, or an ID and municipal bill stating the Guilford County address if the ID does not have the resident's Guilford County address on it. 

2. I understand that this voucher is for assistance with the spay/neuter of one animal with a limit of ONE animal per household per fiscal year from July 1st to June 30th. Any attempt to circumvent this policy will result in permanent loss of eligibility for this program. 

3. Guilford County Animal Services Spay/Neuter Vouchers will only cover a portion of the pet's spay/neuter visit. The remaining cost of these procedures as well as any additional veterinary care requested or provided by the clinic, will be the responsibility of the owner to cover. 

4. The pet owner is responsible for any charges which exceed the value of the voucher. The pet owner is responsible for getting an estimate prior to leaving the pet for surgery and for making any required payment arrangements with the clinic. 

5. Vouchers are only valid at clinics approved by Guilford County Animal Services for the Guilford County Spay/Neuter Program. An approved clinic list will be provided once the application has been accepted.

Please Note: Our Spay/Neuter Voucher Program is currently on hold. Application approvals are paused and we have a backlog of applications. It could be several months before your application is approved as funding lasts.
