The Geographic Information Services Division acts as the lead agency for the planning, coordination, maintenance and development of geospatially referenced data.

Our staff performs geographically-based data collection and maintenance tasks for Guilford County, associated groups and the public. We work to apply the data to create and manage various products that include traditional printed maps, customized desktop applications and browser-based interactive applications.

GIS staff also manages the application of GNSS technology for the County, operates as the Census liaison and provides interdepartmental project management for appropriate projects.

GIS operates with a staff of six employees and is a division of the Information Services Department.
