On May 22, 2014, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners voted to consolidate the Departments of Public Health and Social Services. The Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services includes the Divisions of Public Health and Social Services.

Guilford County Health and Human Services has wide ranging responsibilities within the community that produces tangible results throughout the life cycle of its residents.
