In accordance with North Carolina state election law, voters are required to be legal residents of Guilford County 30 days prior to an election date. Therefore, individuals are required to vote based on the address where they lived 30 days prior to the election.

In North Carolina, the residency deadline for the November 7, 2023 general election is Sunday, October 8, 2023.

See our General Voting Information page for details on how to register to vote if it is before the residency (October 8) and registration (October 13) deadlines. If it is past the deadline to register to vote, individuals can still vote if they meet the requirements for Same Day Registration.
