The Guilford County Division of Public Health (GCDPH) is now offering appointments for the 2021-2022 seasonal influenza (flu) vaccine for anyone aged 6 months and older.

Appointments are available Monday - Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM at the following locations:

  • 1100 E. Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405
  • 501 E Green Dr, High Point, NC 27262

To schedule an appointment, please call 336-641-3245.

  • When calling to schedule an appointment, please ensure that health insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, or Medicare Supplement information is readily available.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the NC Division of Public Health are strongly recommending an annual seasonal flu vaccination, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A flu vaccine is not a replacement for the COVID-19 vaccine. Those who have not yet received a COVID- 19 vaccination may do so at the same time as their flu vaccination.

The flu is a contagious respiratory virus that can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. Those at high risk for serious flu complications include the elderly, young children, pregnant women, those with preexisting health conditions, or compromised immune systems.

To learn more about the differences between COVID-19 and the flu, and why getting vaccinated against both is important, visit https://flu.ncdhhs.gov/.

In addition to getting a seasonal flu vaccination, the GCDPH recommends the following infection- reducing measures:

  • Practicing the 3 W’s (wear a face covering, wash your hands, wait 6-feet apart)
  • Staying home when you are sick
  • Staying away from others who are sick
  • Eating healthy foods
  • Getting enough rest to avoid becoming sick
  • Avoiding high-risk activities such as crowded spaces
