Guilford Creek Week, taking place from June 1-8, is a collaborative effort between Guilford County, the City of Greensboro, the City of High Point, local businesses, and nonprofits. Each year, this initiative provides fun and educational opportunities throughout Guilford County to raise awareness about the health of our watersheds.
During Creek Week we invite everyone to participate in opportunities such as:
- Southwest Park Lake Clean Up
- Saturday, June 1, 8-10 am
- Southwest Park – 6309 Southwest Park Dr., Greensboro, NC
- Help Guilford County Parks keep our beautiful waterways clean and vibrant! Grab your kayak or borrow one of ours and join us for a morning of paddling and trash collecting.
- Water Treatment Plant Tour
- Monday, June 3, 5-7 pm
- City of High Point Water Filtration Plant – 121 N. Pendleton St., High Point, NC
- Enjoy a tour of the City of High Point's water filtration plant. Learn where your water comes from and how it is treated to be safe for our consumption! Registration required; sign up here.
- Water Trivia Night at Bull City Ciderworks Greensboro
- Monday June 3, 7-9 pm
- Bull City Ciderworks – 504 State St., Greensboro, NC
- Join Trivia Host Dale Glenn to test your knowledge on all things water. Prizes will be awarded to winners! Free and open to all ages.
- Drain Marker Pop-up at Greenhaven Park
- Thursday, June 6, 9- 11 am
- Greenhaven Park – 3801 Lynhaven Dr., Greensboro, NC
- Join Water Resources to help adhere drain markers to storm drains. Remember, “only rain should go down the drain” as storm drains lead to lakes and streams. Registration required; sign up here.
- Creek Week Themed Beverage and Educational Display at Core Coffee
- Saturday, June 1 – June 8
- Visit Core Coffee in High Point to enjoy a special Creek Week themed beverage and an educational display, available only during Creek Week.
