Ongoing Efforts to Assist Guilford County Residents
Before the NC Opioid Settlement, Guilford County was already engaged in mitigation and treatment efforts to tackle the opioid challenge in our community. The efforts have made a significant difference for our residents and will continue to make positive change with the addition of more resources.
The Guilford County Solution to the Opioid Problem is a partnership between Guilford County Emergency Services and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for the purpose of addressing the County's increasing incidence of opioid overdoses and opioid-related deaths. Using education and outreach, GCSTOP engages participants with harm reduction practices, distributes and trains community members on the use of naloxone, coordinates resources with other community partners, and operates mobile and fixed-site syringe services programs (SSP). |

The Guilford County Department of Public Health believes in partnerships to strengthen public health initiatives in Guilford County. The Save A Life Guilford campaign, a collaboration between GCDPH, GCSTOP, Triad Adult & Pediatric Medicine, NC FIT, and other organizations, demonstrates a strong community response to combat the opioid crisis and provide much needed resources. |
