Guilford County is rich with programs that support individuals before, during, and after pregnancy. These home visitation programs serve to provide support and referrals to birthing people and families to ensure health birth outcomes. Every Baby Guilford works to support these efforts to ensure birthing people and families who need these services have the opportunity to receive through advocacy efforts that promote their success. In addition, we support infant wellness and positive child development efforts by:
- Promoting healthcare access & referrals for care and supports by leveraging existing partnerships and local navigation services.
- Participating in collective advocacy to address barriers to healthcare (i.e. Medicaid expansion, or sliding scales for people who don’t qualify).
- Supporting Lactation Specialist Training Programs that train Black Lactation Specialists and encourage their leadership in breastfeeding support programs across Guilford County.
- Supporting Community Doula programs that link pregnant women who desire having the support of a Doula during delivery, regardless of ability to pay.

Pregnancy Care Management for At-Risk Mothers
Sponsored by the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, a free care management service available to birthing people enrolled in North Carolina Medicaid and to a limited number of low income, uninsured birthing people. Pregnancy Care Managers are registered nurses or social workers who will work with birthing people and your prenatal care provider to ensure the best possible care during pregnancy and up to sixty days after delivery.
Sponsored by Guilford Child Development, Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is an evidence-based nurse home visitation program that provides nurse home visitation to low-income, first-time birthing people. A nurse home visitor educates the birthing personr about the growth and development of their baby and helps them become more self-sufficient.
Greensboro Healthy Beginnings Program & High Point Healthy Beginnings Program
The Greensboro and High Point YWCAs offer Healthy Beginnings Program, a personalized program for minority birthing people 20 – 30 years old and their children. The program seeks to help young individuals have healthy pregnancies and healthy children and maintain a healthy lifestyle between pregnancies.
A Healthy Start Triad Baby Love Plus Program
Sponsored by Piedmont Health Services Sickle Cell Agency, Triad Baby Love Plus (TBLP) is a free program designed to promote healthy pregnancies, positive birth outcomes and provide participants with the knowledge and resources needed to give babies their best start in life.
Sponsored by the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, Guilford Family Connects offers nurse home visits to all deliveries in Guilford County. Nurse home visits provide support, education, and early identification and referral of health & safety concerns.
Sponsored by Family Service of the Piedmont, Healthy Start is a home-based support program that works with birthing people and new parents with stress factors that make parenting an even tougher job. Home Visitors help parents to nurture their children's development and create a positive living environment for their families.
Parents as Teachers Guilford County
Parents as Teachers Guilford County is a Blue Ribbon Affiliate of a national program that provides parenting education and support to families throughout pregnancy until their child turns five. Their focus is on encouraging parent/child interactions, understanding child development’s impact on child behavior and strengthening the family as a whole. This information sharing and skill development happens through home visits, group connections, screenings and resources. They partner with families to build supportive relationships that empower families to prepare their children to enter school ready to learn, ready for life. Their mission is to provide the information, support, and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
