The MWBE Department is pleased to announce a new tool that fulfills a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity within Guilford County. The MWBE (Minority and Women Business Enterprise) Certified Vendor List is now available on the MWBE website.

This initiative aligns with the 2023 Disparity Study Recommendation 10, which advocates for the “Institution of Data Reform - specifically, the creation of a comprehensive database of vendors”. The MWBE Certified Vendor List serves as a pivotal component in realizing this recommendation by providing a centralized resource for departments and outside vendors to identify MWBE vendors who meet the states certification criteria and conduct business in our relevant market.

Key Details:

1. Access the MWBE Certified Vendor List: The list is accessible on the MWBE website. We encourage all departments to explore this resource when considering vendors for upcoming projects. 
2. Disparity Study Recommendation #10 Implementation: The availability of the MWBE Certified Vendor List is a proactive step in implementing Recommendation #10 from the 2023 Disparity Study. This will enhance our data-driven approach to procurement and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable vendor selection process. 
3. Guidelines for Purchases under $30,000: For purchases under $30,000, departments are encouraged to utilize the MWBE Certified Vendor List to identify vendors who can provide the required goods and services. This aligns with our commitment to promoting diversity and supporting MWBE businesses in our community.

By leveraging the MWBE Certified Vendor List, we not only fulfill the recommendation from the Disparity Study but also contribute to the economic growth of certified businesses within the Guilford County relevant market. 

Instructions for Accessing the MWBE Certified Vendors List:

1. Download the file and open it.
2. In the opened file, click the drop-down arrow on column C to filter results based on the good or service you require.
3. Utilize the search bar within the drop-down menu to enter keywords for the specific good or service you need. Click "OK" to apply the filter.
   1. To conduct multiple searches, reset the filter by clicking the drop-down arrow on column C and selecting "CLEAR FILTER." Repeat steps 4-5.
4. Contact vendors directly using the provided contact information.
5. Regularly check for updates to the MWBE Certified Vendors List, which occur weekly.
