The Major Crimes Section is an investigative branch within the Special Operations Division to provide follow up investigation of criminal offenses involving homicides, suspicious deaths, suicides, assault by serious injuries, sexual offenses, robberies, kidnapping, missing persons, organized criminal activity, extortion, blackmail, arson of structures, and all serious offenses involving a juvenile.

The primary goal of the Major Crimes Investigation Unit is the investigation and prosecution of persons who have committed violent crimes within Guilford County and to provide the public with information concerning violent criminal activity in our Guilford County communities.
