The Guilford County Sheriff's Office provides Law Enforcement Services to the unincorporated areas of Guilford County and to the towns of Jamestown, Oak Ridge, Pleasant Garden, Sedalia, Stokesdale, Summerfield and Whitsett. The town of Jamestown also contracts with the Guilford County Sheriff's Office to provide additional law enforcement services within the town.

The Sheriff's Office operates three District Offices within the county in addition to the two main offices that are located in Greensboro and High Point. The district offices provide 24/7 patrol services to the citizens of each district. Each district also provides criminal investigative services crimes occurring within the district. The district offices are located in Jamestown, Summerfield and Whitsett.

Other cities and towns within Guilford County maintain their own police departments.
